Goalpara law College, on completion of its 25 years existence, celebrated its silver Jubilee on 22nd and 23rd December 2012 last. Situated on the outskirt of Goalpara town at Bhalukdubi, 5 k.m away from town, over a plot of 20 bighas of Govt. land alloted by the District administration in 1987 and constructed buildings thereon by the DRDA and G.B. of the College at different times. The college was established in the year 1987 after a public meeting held on 21-02-1987 at Goalpara College building under the president ship of Dr. Annada Charan Das being convened by six advocates namely Sri Gurucharan Das, Late Bishwananth Nath, Late Tohidur Rahman, Late Keshab Ranjan Nath , Late Prabhat Nath and Sri Jiten Das. The college was started by the people of Goalpara District with the help and co operation of District administration, G.U Authority, Govt., Bar Council of India, Goalpara College and all other concerned. Formally the college was inaugurated on 12.01.1988 by the then Law Minister of Assam S.N Medhi at Goalpara College Building and classes were held there till 1997. Subsequently college was shifted to the present campus, which was inaugurated by the then Hon'ble Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Justice M.Ramkrishna on 9th August 1997. The college has been continuing to the needs of several neighboring districts besides Goalpara. The college has 10 teachers including Principal and Vice-Principal and as many as nine of them are LL.M. The teachers are also rendering dedicated service. The founder Principal Sri G.C Das, retired and Sri Anup Kr. Ray has taken over the charge. The college received permanent affiliation from G.U. and the Bar Council of India granted permanent recognition in 1994. The result of the College has been uniformly good. A student secured 1st Class first position in LL.B. Final Examination in 1995 and many students secured first division in LL.B Final Semester Examination last year also.
